頒獎禮校長講辭

Dear parents, teachers and students,

　　After three months of hard work and a series of tests and examinations, students and teachers can finally take a break in the Chinese New year holiday. In today’s prize-giving ceremony, I am so glad to see the great improvement of our students in academic work and extra-curricular activities. This is the fruit of the concerted effort of parents, teachers and students. For those award-winning students, I hope you can further your achievements; and for those who do not get any prizes, I hope you will not be discouraged. The results you obtained make the effort you paid in the learning process from September to January. Although the results may not be what you expected, don’t give up easily.

　　 As a saying goes, “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm”. This saying happens to coincide with our school’s philosophy of “Improvement through Practice”. Students in LSP have lots of opportunities to practise every day. Through studying, tests and exams, they practise what they have learned; through participation in extra-curricular activities, they practise their skills; through flag selling, raffle ticket selling and other charity work, they practise how to conduct their lives. Keep on trying, pratising and evaluating, students will continue to improve and be successful one day.

　　 At last, I hope that the award recipients will observe the principle of “Improvement through Practice” to gain higher achievements. As for the rest of the students, you should treasure the opportunities of practice and grasp every chance to make improvement so that you can get a better result in the second term.

　　Spring comes after winter’s long cold days. With the approach of a new year, I wish all of you a great Year of the Rat. Thank you.

各位家長、各位老師、各位同學：

　　經過三個多月的艱苦學習及連串的測驗、考試；老師及同學們在農曆年假終於可以稍作休息。在今天的頒獎典禮中，我很高興見到我們李城璧同學在學業及課外活動方面，俱有很大的進步。這實在有賴各位老師、各位同學、甚至各家長共同合力耕耘而獲取的成果。我在這裡，一方面祝賀獲獎同學，希望他們能夠「百尺竿頭，更進一步」；至於未能獲獎同學，亦請他們不要氣餒，因為這次考試中，你們所獲取的分數及成績，已經標誌著你們在九月至一月這個學習階段中，所獲取的成果。你們縱使成績未如人意，但希望你們亦不要輕言放棄。

　　諺語有云：「自古成功在嘗試」；這句話與我們李城璧中學其中一項辦學信念「在實踐中追求進步」不謀而合。同學們在李城璧內，每日均有不少的實踐機會，學習、測驗、考試是實踐所學；參與課外活動是實踐做事；課餘參與賣旗、賣獎券等公益活動是實踐做人。同學們只要不斷嘗試，不斷實踐，不斷檢討；我相信，你們必會不斷進步，最後必定能成功。

　　最後，我希望在座的獲獎同學，能秉承「在實踐中追求進步」原則，不斷尋求突破，再創佳績；至於未能獲獎的同學，更要珍惜日後的實踐機會，尋求進步的空間，以望下學期能成功得獎。

　　殘冬將盡，新春快至，我謹祝在座各位在來年的鼠年，身體健康、龍馬精神。謝謝各位。
